Josep Font, our Creative Director, attended to Met Gala accompanied by the American actress Kate Mara, who chose a DELPOZO dress for climbing the stairs of red carpet.

Met Gala is one of the most important events of Fashion industry. Every year this event celebrates the inauguration of the spring 2013 Costume Institute’s exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The theme of the exhibition is Punk: Chaos to Couture and it has been possible thanks to Moda Operandi, which is the main host of the event, this year.

Indre Rockefeller, Director of Ready-to-Wear of the online boutique, also chose one of DELPOZO exclusive dresses, inspired in Punk from a romantic perspective.

To reach this idea we combined all elements, taking care of every single detail such us: Canoe Studio decoration or the fragrance that enveloped the atmosphere.

Making the choice of makeup and hairstyle is one of the key points of a Fashion Show, and this requires a period of study and research.

In this occasion, collaborating with MAC, we chose a simple, bright and lightly colorful makeup, which reinforced the natural beauty of each model. A pink-orange color is given lift to the cheekbones of each model. Meanwhile, the eyes were framed by golden highlights shadows and pink eyeliner.

The classic Victorian hairstyle or “Gibson Girl” (bass and parted in the middle) was transformed, by Moroccanoil team, in an informally relaxed and contemporary look.

Thanks to Monica and Marcel, with who Josep Font, Creative Director of DELPOZO, already worked on our first show last September, during the MBFWM, we managed to create the perfect style for DELPOZOFW13 collection.

After renewing the brand image, we wanted to find a space in which we could offer a shopping experience which is coherent with our values.

Josep Font, Creative Director of DELPOZO, wanted to contribute in order to express the whole DELPOZO’s universe,  through the five senses. Consequently, he has personally chosen every tiny detail: fragrance, music, and even the flowers. 

This space, just like the DELPOZO collections, offers its own identity through creative independence and vocation for exclusivity, investigation and innovation.

Just like in the old fashion houses, nothing comes between the woman and the clothes. This architectural project provides a warm, functional and sincere experience.

The store’s, with simple and minimalistic appearance, hides technical complexity, a rich variety of materials and great care taken over even the smallest detail.

The original brass and distressed glass displays have become display cases, bringing value and distinction to the garments.

The brass furniture is combined with black portoro stone and wood, providing an esthetic and visual continuity. Finally, the oak wood floors and distressed glass represent the brand’s natural warmth and tradition.

The warm colours of both materials mix with the femininity of the pale pink walls (both corporate colours of the new DELPOZO brand image).

Light, which has been treated as another material, brings out the colours while creating rhythm in the space. It has been used to create a special and intimate atmosphere which is at times soft and sometimes more intense.

In short, this is a space that has been thought to make you to feel unique and special. You are all invite to see it.

On a floral carpet, especially created for the occasion, every look presented a careful balance between the expressionism of organic architecture and the delicate femininity of the Victorian age.

‘Au Revoir Simone’ played ‘Take me as I am’ while DELPOZO guests were discovering, little by little, the architectural shapes, the roses, bias cur frills and the cap sleeves. Embroidery, flowers and prints, as well as a varied and extensive range of colors, applied in block, completed the proposal.

From the front row, Lauren Santo Domingo and Olivia Palermo (among other special guests) could appreciate the details of the looks closely. For the day, fabrics such as wool and mohair work the design structure to create natural shapes, while, for the night, light dresses in a romantic cut are made of tulle, organza and crepes.

With New York’s skyline as background, attendees could see a play of contrasts that allows DELPOZO to offer a personal proposal based on a profound investigation of colors and shapes.

For this reason and taking this opportunity, Teatro de la Zarzuela has performed an exhibition in memory of Jesus del Pozo, in which will be shown a sample of his contribution to the performing arts in order to make known one of his artistic facets.

The passion of Jesus del Pozo for the performing arts led him to get involve personally in the creation of costumes for many plays, ballet, theater and opera, working with directors such as José Carlos Plaza, Bob Wilson, Emilio Sagi or Fernando Trueba.

Some of this work can be seen in this short but significant exhibition. In addition to the work represented, some pieces from Bizet’s opera Carmen (produced at the Theatre Royal for the 98-99 seasons) and Farnace of Vivaldi will be exposed.
